Ever wondered the reason behind that foul odour emanciating from people's mouths? No, the question is, have you ever perceived the odour from a smelling mouth before? Imagine you are meeting a friend you really like so much for the first time and he/she opens his/her mouth to say hi and OMG the odour hits you...pheww. You can even forget the love you have for the person and replace it with a greater hatred for the mouth.
Today, thanks to DOT from UI, we would really see the what and why of halitosis, and the how to manage it. Keep calm and enjoy.

Downtown Damsel

The innocent culprit
Cursed with a charitable spirit
She humbly lies under the humility of man
Readily available specimen for bedroom tryout

Ajao tours her butt
She gets his cup of immorality filled
He gets drunk and lost in lustful lust
He reports that she is expensively cheap

Ajala visits her bosom
She curls his promiscuity with sparkling refreshment
Her expertise unmarks the insanity in him
He reports that she is generous in deed and indeed

My curiosity wanted a philantropic experience
But inquired about the hospitable service
She informed my ignorance that she got her AIDS free
"Freely have I received and freely will I give"

Lagos To Jail Street Hawkers From July 1 - Ambode

Culled from: Punch

The Lagos State Government on Friday said that from July 1, 2016, it would commence a total enforcement against street trading and street hawkers, saying that the law banning their activities across the metropolis would take its full course.
Speaking at a live interview session on Television Continental, the State Governor, Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode said that the renewed enforcement is in line with Section One of the Lagos State Street Trading and Illegal Market Prohibition Law 2003 which restricts street trading and hawking in the metropolis.
The Governor, while sympathising with the family of a street hawker who was knocked down by an articulated truck while trying to evade arrest from officials of Kick Against Indiscipline along Maryland Bus stop on Wednesday, regretted that the situation led to the destruction of public assets.
“It is not in our DNA to allow someone to just die by road accident or the way it happened in respect of the incident. But beyond the fact that we lost one person while crossing the road as a result of evading arrest by KAI officials, I need to tell Lagosians that over 49 buses were actually destroyed and it is costing us like almost N139m to put those buses back on the road,” he said.
Consequently, Governor Ambode said the State Executive Council has resolved to enforce the Law, which according to him makes both the hawker and the buyer liable of the offence.
“The issue is we need to enforce our laws because we already have a law in respect of that and then there is a clause in it which says the buyer and the seller are both liable and that we are going to fine them either N90,000 or a six month jail term.
“What we are doing on traffic is that we are introducing new strategies to eliminate traffic, but Lagos being a cosmopolitan city, you cannot totally eliminate it but now this is the case, in the next few days, you will see on the street of Lagos signs that will be warning you that buyers and hawkers should be aware that there are consequences,” Governor Ambode said.

Hello July!

Happy new month everyone. I pray July will be a really good month for us all. Let's all leave behind all our sorrows in June and forge ahead this July. Once again, have a happy new month from TOB.

TOB Poetry: A Pensive Song (For Juwon)

A TOB reader and poet, Olawale Ibiyemi, sent in a poem in honour of his recently deceased friend Juwon . Read the full poem after the cut...

We'll Meet Again Dear Friend

When I heard that my friend had passed away, I immediately thought the cliche: Why him? Why now?  I really didn't want to post about his death on TOB even though I heard of the news quite early, because I didn't want him to be just another blog post. To me, that would just be utter disrespect.

The first time I met Juwon was in an ENACTUS meeting back in 2015. Dayo(team leader) was talking about our Growth 360 project and he introduces Juwon to come talk about his idea for a H-powered generator. And I see this guy that has really bad explanatory skills talking all techy and all. Looking back now, I'm pretty sure none of us got that explanation, but sha knew it was going to be a cool water-gen(which was remarkably different), although I had my reservations of its possibility.

\Fast forward a couple of months, and tada! A functional, eco-friendly and efficient water-gen had been made thanks to his research, hardwork and consistency. It's a known fact that the innovation won our ENACTUS team 2nd place in the Sahara: Light up Nigeria Challenge . Sometime in March 2016 during another ENACTUS meeting Juwon comes up with another idea about a business that could thrive in school tagged, IScrew. And he goes on, in his usual bad explanatory manner, but this time I put in more attention and I sensed others did too.

Knowing you, I'm sure you still had a lot more up your sleeve. I know everything happens for a reason, and God has a divine plan for everything. For now dear friend, rest in God's bosom till we meet again.

A Letter To The Heart Broken

Culled from: TheBeat99,com

Once upon a time in my life, I couldn't stop questioning my sanity. It seemed like I had no control of myself and my life and I was a spectator in my own life's field. I just couldn't explain how I let my guards another human the power to control my happiness. It took a lot of sleepless nights, an exhausted tear gland and constant migraines to get me to that sane zone.

I have decided to skip all the bouts of depression and fits of paranoia and how much of myself I lost or how many job opportunities I was too blind to see thanks to the fact that all of my senses had been dulled by the pains from a broken heart. Now for those guys or ladies forming 'stainless', well, this is not for you. But if you have ever felt like your world was being torn apart like a falling line of dominoes, then I guess this is for you.

I Thank God For Life

I recently had a bad personal experience, but God saw me through and most especially unharmed. I would like to share my experience as a testimony to what God has done and can do.

I cant help but continue thanking God for his mercy. I recently passed through a terrifying ordeal but he kept me through. For sometime I've been telling my sister I wanted to follow her to Pan Atlantic University just to see how it was, the students and all. I eventually had the chance to follow her yesterday, but no one would have ever thought of what would happen on our way back.

So she's driving and I;m in the passenger seat, almost home, then out of the blue this trailer comes from the back and smashes the LHS of the car. In that moment all I remember doing was shouting "Jesus! Jesus!!"and drawing my sister over to my side so she wouldn't get hurt. We were hit and "flew" (if I can use that word), to the right. Luckily for us, a danfo was there, so the car hit that (smashing the RHS of the vehicle) instead of rolling or swerving out of control and who knows what would have been.

The 'drunk' driver (because to me you have to be drunk to drive that way), stopped for a while after the impact then sped off from the scene like no tomorrow. Thankfully, none of us were hurt, only a smashed car. What is a car to someone's life? We managed back to FESTAC and went to the mechanic straight. I managed to take a picture of the finest door before the car was taken away.

Things like these are only seen in Nollywood/.Bollywood movies. I can't help but thank God for our lives. A car can go but life is precious.

Class Of 2016: A Blessing In Disguise - Olumide Ibikunle

So next on the TOB Class Of Excellence is the Olumide Ibikunle. Olumide is just one of those people in school you just can't help but look up to. An academic, speaker, mentor and more, Olumide certainly left his mark in our hearts one way or the other. Most people know Olumide as the leader or "that smart guy", but few actually know the real story behind him. For instance: Did you know, he was actually to study Computer Science but couldn't because he had a 'D'in his WASSCE for Chemistry? Olumide's story is one of turned tables and blessings in disguse. Class Of 2016: A Second Class Graduate, A First Class Leader

TOB called for submissions from graduates this graduating season (TOB Celebrates Excellence) who inspire excellence one way or another. The Class of 2016 has shown a lot of promising people and I'm happy to show one of them today.

Kicking of our series is Falade Temidayo, a graduate from Babcock University. Dayo (Determined Dayo as I like to call him) was known as an academic, remarkable and influential leader whilst in Babcock Univeristy. He was a previous President of his department's association, and also led his Enactus team to coming second place in the Enactus Nigeria Sahara Energy Project in 2015. Although he graduated with a Second Class: Upper Division in Business Administration, with a CGPA of 4.40 (short of a .01 to merit a First Class), he still deserves to be shown on this series. A leader, entrepreneur, musician, academic and speaker, Temidayo is clearly one to watch  out for in the future.

Islam: A Religion Not A Terrorist Group

I was recently approached by a muslim BU student through a social medium. He seemed cool and is apparently a fan of TOB . His name is Safiriyu Sodiq, a 300 level Accounting student and the current President of the Babcock University League of Muslim Publishers (BLOMPS). Sodiq actually wanted to be a contributor to TOB, but when we started talking I thought since he's well read and a muslim then why not do something on Islam. Let's make everybody know you guys (muslims) aren't terrorist extremists. He liked the idea and we decided that could be what he contributes on TOB towards.
So starting with this article, Sodiq is going to be explaining Islam and how it is remarkably different from terrorist groups such as Boko Haram and ISIS. Read Sodiq's article after the cut...

TOB Tatafo: Suspended Before Grad?

It's funny but sad at the same time. So here's the scoop: Two people(a guy and a girl), have been rumoured to be suspended just a day before graduating with the Stallions today because, they were caught on cctv at BUTH having sex. This is a clear case of skype from the village. But really, before you graduate? Were they thinking last undergraduate sex or what? After all the tomato their families would have bought for jollof rice SMH.

This Is Pretty Cool

I know I haven't posted any pictures from today yet (so sorry about that), but this is just soo cool. Makes me wonder what I would get when it's my turn. Fingers crossed for a private jet.
